About WAKSA

WAKSA has been working for its members since 2002. Our major role is to promote safe kiting and to defend your right to kite everywhere along the coast where it can be considered appropriate. Given that we are just one of many beach user groups - all of whom have the right to safe and free access to our beaches - this is a constant focus and major task of the WAKSA Committee.

Committee

The WA Kite Surfing Association is run by members who make up the Committee. All committee members are volunteers and devote their time and efforts to running WAKSA successfully.

A word from the new Secretary:

The new committee for the season 2012/2013 has been formed and general business has been handed over on the 14th of May 2012 to the new committee.

At the time of the AGM President and Treasurer position were left vacant until the new committee appoints candidates for this position.

This has been done and the committee will confirm/vote on the new positions at their first committee meeting on the 28th of May 2012.

The new committee would like to thank the previous committee for their dedicated work and all of us know that we have some big shoes to fill.

We already have identified one area where we would like to generate a few waves and this is member participation in various projects and planning processes.

The new committee will inform everyone in due course about some new exciting developments, but we also need all the member support we can get.

This spot will be updated with the list of the new committee members as soon as we have finished organising ourselves in all the various roles this committee has to fill.

WA Chick Kiters

WAChickKiters Network (WACK!) is a casual group of female kiters in Western Australia designed as a forum for our enthusiastic but minority gender in this fantastic sport to get together both on and off the water, and is suitable for all levels of kiters- we all know what it was like to be starting out! Even if the wind god is not smiling on us, we usually have some no wind activities planned, so come along and join a great bunch of like minded women.
