A word from our executive committee members:

Darren

Currently I am working in the field of  Accounting and Business Management in the Pharmacy Industry.

I have 12 years of kiting experience and my special interest is in Wave Riding  and Racing , best result equal 17th Wave nationals in 2006/2007. In 2012 I joined the WAKSA committe as Treasurer.

My Hobbies and Skills:  Renovating, Cycling and Golf on the odd windless day, surfing, snowboarding, Coastal Navigation, Skippers Ticket. Sailing (sailed from Gold Coast QLD to Perth in 31ft cat in 2003/2004),

I am now married, so sold the boat and have a very active happy and  healthy 3 year old daughter, who asks too many questions, but is such a joy.

Drew

Having helped WAKSA as a volunteer for the last 3 years I decided to step up and become more directly involved. In 2012 I was vice-president and have decided to continue in the role.

Having a background in Recreation Management with a variety of sports and cultures I'd like to help grow Kitesurfing's profile and relationship with the general public, improving the experience for all.

I enjoy doing a bit of freestyle, downwinder's but generally just kiting with my mates. Hope to see you out there!

Leigh

Being relatively new to Perth and kiting (three years) I wanted to join the WAKSA committee to be more involved, learn about the sport and meet like-minded people. I was a committee member for the 2012/13 season and feel I now have more to contribute due to this experience.

I’ve been involved in various other local sporting organisations and have been involved in organising live music events so I hope to bring these skills to the WAKSA committee.

I’ve definitely become fairly hooked on kiting and love getting out there with mates.
