Special General Meeting to discuss the AKSA structural changes as per the AGM in July.

To kick off the 2011/12 kite surfing season, WAKSA is hosting a downwinder. We'll be meeting at the City Beach / Floreat car park (northern most car park at City Beach adjacent to the Floreat Groyne wall) at noon. The first bus will head south dropping people at either Leighton or Swanbourne. Drinks will be held after the downwinder at the Floreat Kiosk.

The first of the Course Racing Event Series for the 2011/12 summer. Taking place at Melville on the Swan River, the afternoon should consist of 4-8 short course races.

The Wedge Island Wave Comp is back for another year and in 2011 doubles as the WA Wave Riding State Titles! Last year's event saw more than 50 of WA's top wave riders competing in great waves and wind conditions at Wedge Island. The event will have Open Mens, Womens, Masters, Grand Masters, Amateurs and Junior categories - something for everyone! Spaces are limited and you must register online before the event - we won't be taking extra registrations on the day. To compete you'll need to be a current WAKSA member, so get your membership now if you haven't already. NB. 12th November is a backup date in the event of no wind/waves on Nov 5th.

Back for the 3rd year, the Redkite Charity Downwinder is now well established as one of the best days on the kitesurfing calendar. A great opportunity to do a fun downwinder with mates whilst raising money for the Redkite Charity! More information available soon.

The inaugarul event in 2010 was a huge success with more than 50 local and international kite surfers making the 19kms open ocean race crossing. This year's Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton is going to be bigger and better, with many riders confident of beating the race record of just under 25 minutes.

The third installment of Course Racing for the Summer Race Series, this time taking place in the open ocean at Leighton Beach in North Fremantle.

The premiere freestyle kite surfing event for the 2011/12 season in Western Australia, is set to be the WA Freestyle State Championships. Scheduled to take place at the home of freestyle in WA, Woodman Point over the weekend of 14th & 15th January 2012. With consistent winds and silky smooth water, this is the perfect venue for local talent to showcase their tricks.

The location for this downwinder will be announced closer to the time. It is going to be a new location, exploring some of WA's best coastline with great waves...

Kitestock is the premier kitesurfing event in WA, bringing together kiters of all levels for three days of exclusive kiting and socialising at the stunning ocean location of Dongara/Port Denison, WA. Throughout the weekend there will be various "events" with some stunning prizes up for grabs.
