We have a new WAKSA committee and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous committee for all their efforts.  Unfortunately not all positions were filled and we are  looking for members to step up please and fill the following roles. 

• Treasurer
• Course Racing General Committee Member
• Freestyle General Committee Member
• Three or four General Committee Members

 Notice is hereby given that the 2013 annual general meeting of the association will be held at City Beach SLSC on Wednesday 8th May 2013 at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start.

Red Kite Downwinder has been postponed untill Sunday 24th March and the event will be held.  Subject to wind with more details to follow in the newsletter.

Wanting to win a Kitesurfing Holiday to Cocos?? Once again, it's time to shake the can and raise funds for Redkite, supporting children and young people through the cancer journey.

WAKSA members are encouraged to register for the event through the Every Day Hero site and start raising money. The kiter who raises the most funds by mid-day Sunday 27th November will win a sensational Prize. Don't forget to Register for the event through the events tab now.

Unfortunatly due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to postpone the Downwinder till March 2013

The Event is still happening and we are working hard behind the scenes to secure a date in earlt March. Between now and then, we would like to encourage all our Members to register on the everyday hero website (Click Here) and start fundraising for Redkite.

We have a fantastic prize this year for the person who raises the most funds so start raising money today and help support young people with cancer and their families.

Highlights

Competition was hard fought throughout the event. The standard was high and the judges had their work cut out for them all weekend. Stand outs were Shannon Ducker setting the wave riding bar for all girls in WA, Billy Hampton in the juniors for laying down some power frontside hacks thru the heats.

A huge thanks to Kite Addiction who were our sponsor for the third year in a row. Thanks to the WAKSA crew in planning including approval and the guys that helped over the weekend from setting up to pack down. Thanks to the scarborough boys for judging and generally lending a hand. Thanks to phil for a long day of timekeeping. Thanks to Rich Swingewood for the trophies that he hand made - a huge personal effort and they looked great. Thanks to everyone else that helped out too!
