WA Freestyle State Titles
The freestyle state titles, which were held on Saturday 7th March at the Pond, had all the right ingredients for a successful event. Clear skies, flat water and consistent winds, provided the perfect arena for riders to showcase their athletic abilities.
The WAKSA state course racing titles were hosted by Perth Kite Racing Club on February 21 & 22, this was the first time any state titles were run for course racing. All of which could not have happened without the tireless efforts of Andrew Hansen.
Full details of results can be access form the links below.

WAKSA Freestyle Clinic Wrap-up
WAKSA’s first freestyle clinic on Sunday shaped out to be a fun filled event, attracting riders with differing kiting abilities.
With the help of the coaches, riders left the clinic with smiles on their faces and new tricks in the bag. One member learnt a back roll within half hour and others landed their first railey (and more), after coming from no previous ‘unhooking’ experience. One of the more experienced riders was going for the harder tricks, such as the backmobe, which was impressing to see.
After the clinic, it was then the coaches’ turn to take centre stage as they entertained the crowd with their speccy tricks in perfect flat water conditions.
Thank you to all the coaches (Chrissy Gaudieri, Mark Richardson, Daniel Anderson & Simon Wichermann) for dedicating their time to the clinic. And thanks to the riders for making it down
We are ON for the comp this Sunday.
The swell forecast is small but the winds will be favourable. We will assess the conditions on Sunday morning for the final call on format - 1 day event, or do 1st rounds sunday and finals the next weekend.
Meet at Brighton beach, most likely 200 m south of the main ramp, for an 11 am briefing and the comp will start ASAP after that.
It's important you make the briefing for safety reasons and so you understand the comp format and run sheet - it will give you the best chance of enjoying the day.
All help will be gratefully appreciated with setup as usual from 10am.
Don’t forget to pre-register on the WAKSA website with your Name and Division before midday on Saturday.
We don't take entries on the beach! Kite Addiction have sponsored this event for 5 years.
This year they have given us 120 prizes so everyone is going to be a winner.
